About these terms of sale
By using this Website and/or placing an order you agree to be bound by these Terms of Sale and this Delivery Policy.
Please read these Terms of Sale and the Delivery Policy carefully and make sure that you understand them before ordering any Products from our Website. You will be asked to read and agree to these Terms of Sale before you place an order for Products from our Website. If you do not agree with these Terms of Sale, do not order any Products from our Website.

We may change these Terms of Sale from time to time without notice to you, for example, to comply with changes in the law, to take account of new ordering or payment processes, or new Products we may offer. Changes will only apply to any subsequent orders you make on the Website. Every time you wish to order Products, please check these Terms of Sale to ensure you understand the terms which will apply at that time.
These Terms of Sale, and any Contract between us, is only in the English language.
In our dealings with you, we work on the assumption that all sales are to private consumers, you are at least 18 years old and are legally capable of entering into binding contracts.
Bespoke cakes & Private orders
For any changes to your order please email us at info@sussexbakehouse.co.uk we will need 48 hours notice.
For any cancellations, we need 72 hours notice.
If you do need to change the date or time, we will always help if we can but can’t guarantee it if we are booked for the date in question.
If someone else is collecting the cake, please ensure they send a picture of the cake to make sure you are happy for it to leave the shop.
No receipt is required for collection, just please quote the name on the booking form, not the name on the cake.
If for any reason you are not happy with your cake order, please contact us immediately by email to info@sussexbakehouse.co.uk
We may ask that you return the product to us for quality inspection or provide photographic evidence within 24 hours from receipt of the order. If the product is faulty or misdescribed we will either correct the mistake or provide a replacement prior to your event. If this is not possible we will offer some or all of your money back as store credit.
Allergy Notice
Although great care is taken when handling ingredients, our products are not prepared in a completely allergy safe environment.
Due to factors beyond our control, we subsequently are unable to guarantee that products don’t contain traces of any of the 14 main allergens:
Nuts, Peanuts, Cereals containing: Gluten, Egg, Dairy, Soya. Also Celery, Crustaceans, Mustard, Molluscs, Fish, Lupin, Sesame, Soya, & Sulphites.
Glutenwise
Our Glutenwise products are made with ingredients which don’t contain gluten, but are prepared and handled in a gluten environment. They therefore cannot be legally described as gluten free.Product Information
Products are consumed at the customer’s own risk.
We have made every effort to describe and display as accurately as possible the Products that appear on the Website. However, your Products may vary slightly from those images, especially those Products which are handcrafted.
Prices, offers and Products are subject to availability and may change at any time prior to receipt of your Dispatch Confirmation.
Events Outside Our Control
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a Contract that is caused by an Event Outside Our Control.
An "Event Outside Our Control" means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks or impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.
If an Event Outside Our Control takes place that affects the performance of our obligations under a Contract:
- we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you; and
- our obligations under a Contract will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the Event Outside Our Control.
